Hole transport materials are of great importance in semiconductor technology, especially in the development of OLEDs and other organic electronic devices. They facilitate the transport of "holes", which are essentially considered to be positively charged vacancies or missing electrons in a crystal lattice. These materials provide targeted transport of holes from one area to another in an electronic component. In doing so, they help to control and improve the flow of electrical current by enabling the recombination of electrons and holes in the right place to achieve the desired functionality.
